The Thrill of Victory

Do you need Victory in your life?

Most of use do and some of us feel we just can’t win for losing (so to speak).
There is a way to have victory in your life everyday and every moment of your life. The problem is, with most of us, that the way to have victory is not dependent on others. We tend to base our feeling of victory on emotional circumstances that occur in everyday life. Life will throw us some situations that will be hard to overcome if we are basing our victory on circumstances.

By definition “Victory” means the act of defeating an opponent. So who is your opponent?

Our opponent is not our Brother’s and Sister’s within the church. We are not competing for jobs or functions within the church organization in order to gain God’s favor. And we shouldn’t trying to be outdoing one another but we should be building one another up and encouraging one another in our different roles and functions within the church body so that Christ be glorified.

Our opponent is not the Christian church(s) down the street or across town. Although there are different ways in which we worship and different styles of music, there is One God, One Savior Jesus Christ and one Holy Spirit.

Our opponent is not the un-saved world. Although there are millions of people who do not have Jesus Christ in their life, and are unknowingly be led by Satan through the pleasures of the world, these are not our opponent to be defeated either.

Our opponent is the ruler of this world, the one who stands before the throne of God day and night as our accuser (Rev.2:10). The one who tempts us to do what is not right or live a life not pleasing or honoring to God.
Revelation 12:10 (ESV) And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

In order to have victory in our lives we only have to look to the one who is able to defeat evil and the one who already has claimed victory over death. If we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ to save us from our sin. Jesus Christ’s shed blood paid the price the penalty of our sin against God. We sinned and earned the punishment that the law demands. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation, no amount of good works or good deeds will suffice to merit favor with God because of sin. Only by accepting what Jesus Christ did on our behalf, and making Him the Lord or our life can we truly have Victory.

Victory will only truly come in an individuals life when we submit our lives to the one who paid for our freedom from the penalty of sin. Once you are free from the penalty you are free indeed. Once free, we are able to live victorious lives no matter what kind of tragedy or calamity comes. We can then realize that the best is yet to come and God
1 Corinthians 15:57 (ESV) But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The late Jim McKay of ABC Sports would say “Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, the human drama of athletic completion, this is ABC’s Wide World of Sports.”

If you are a born again believer in Jesus Christ, you are already on the winning team. You have already won the victory, why not act like it?

Victory in Jesus,
I heard an old, old story – How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary – To save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning – Of His precious blood’s atoning
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory

O victory in Jesus My Savior, forever
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory Beneath the cleansing flood

What about You?

Do you really want Victory?

Do you want victory over Satan in your life?

Jesus paid every debt you owe, He already purchased your Victory with His own blood

Will you continue to live in defeat or will you live Victorious in our Savior?
